Fencing & Decks
Fences and Decks Built for This Climate
We build fences and decks throughout Port Jervis, Milford PA, Matamoras, Sparrowbush, and Montague. Snow loads, ice, UV exposure, and humidity all take a toll on outdoor structures around here. We use materials and fasteners that hold up, and we build to code.
For fencing, we install wood privacy fence, split rail, vinyl, aluminum, chain link, and ornamental metal. We verify property lines before we start, dig post holes below frost line, and use hardware that will not rust or loosen. Pool enclosures are built to meet local safety code requirements.
For decks, we work with pressure-treated lumber, cedar, and composite materials like Trex and TimberTech. Pressure-treated is the most affordable. Cedar resists rot naturally. Composite costs more upfront but you skip the annual staining and sealing. We build ground-level platforms, elevated decks, multi-level designs, and wraparound decks with stairs, railings, and built-in seating.
We also build pergolas and shade structures. These are framed and fastened the same way we build a deck -- properly sized posts, through-bolted connections, and materials rated for outdoor exposure.
Every deck and fence project includes: design, permitting, post setting, framing, decking or panel installation, stairs, railings, and staining or sealing if needed. Pressure-treated framing with stainless steel fasteners is our standard for the substructure because it performs best in Orange County NY and Pike County PA conditions. Most residential decks take 1 to 2 weeks to complete.

Frequently Asked Questions
What deck materials do you recommend?
For the Tri-State Area climate, we recommend composite decking like Trex or TimberTech for low maintenance, or cedar for a natural look. Pressure-treated lumber is the most affordable option. We help you weigh the pros and cons of each material during your consultation.
Do I need a permit for a deck or fence?
Most decks and many fences require permits depending on your municipality. We handle all permitting and inspections for projects in Port Jervis, Milford PA, Matamoras, and surrounding areas.
How long does a deck take to build?
Most residential decks take 1 to 2 weeks to build. This includes post holes, framing, decking, stairs, railings, and any finishing work. Larger or multi-level decks may take longer. We provide a clear timeline before construction begins.
What types of fencing do you install?
We install wood privacy fencing, split rail, vinyl, aluminum, and chain link fencing. Each type has different benefits for privacy, appearance, and budget. We help you choose the right option for your property.
Do you stain and seal new decks?
Yes. We offer staining and sealing as part of our deck construction service. For pressure-treated lumber, we recommend waiting a few months for the wood to dry before applying stain. Cedar and composite decking have different maintenance requirements that we will explain.
